When you receive your order from us the batteries will be almost fully charged but even so you should still complete a charge before first use, if it's going into a device that is always connected to the mains like a battery backup for monitoring or alarm system then you can miss this step as it will do it for you, best do not need to leave it on for hours on end, it will probably not take very long at all depending on the charger, just until it has finished. it would be unwise, unless as stated above, missing out on charging them first could shorten overall life expectancy.
