The Pride Hurricane mobility scooter comes as standard with a number of features you probably all ready know about, it also comes with options of batteries, the standard fit is a pair of 12-volt 32ah, this offer is for a pair of 34-amp hour to directly replace those and give a few more miles per charge. Some models also came with 40-amp hour batteries, these are a different physical size so if you unsure of what you have we would suggest you check before ordering. As a owner of this scooter you are probably already aware that it can be broken down into smaller components for easy travel, and for that matter have already taken the batteries out in the past. If you have not then they are under the shroud beneath the seat, to get to them put the manual freewheel lever in the down position. Unlock the seat with the seat rotation lever, rotate the seat one eight of a turn and lift up, the seat can then be removed and the shroud underneath exposing the batteries in their cradle with a battery tie down strap, do not forget to unplug the battery to scooter harness before removing.
Charging of the batteries is important, they will come out to you almost fully charged but the first one is important, charge fully before first use, if in doubt overnight.
Charge after every use, better that than to leave them in a discharged state which
will only shorten expected life span.
Charge every 8-weeks if not being used, do not leave on charger for more than 24-hours.
VRLA sealed lead acid batteries (SLA) are Non-spill, non-hazardous and maintenance free.
