This is a older style cordless power tool drill and screwdriver but was very well made, so if you have one in good condition you know that they just keep on going so the investment in a new battery is a worthwhile consideration, especially when you try to compare it with anything available in this day and age which is not likely to have same build quality
keeping your new battery in good order need not be difficult, just follow a few simple rules, keep your new GSR VET screwdriver battery fully charged, if not being used charge every 2 months and never put away discharged, this will go a long way to increase battery life, remember though not to leave on charge for more than 12-hours, just until its charged normally no more than 2 hours
