How to charge and maintain Rascal Pioneer scooter batteries?
Charging your batteries is very important, as most of the damage occurs when they are allowed to run flat. Please charge upon delivery and before first use, although this should not take long as all our batteries are dispatched with sufficient charge. If a period of six weeks passes without use, then charge them to slow down the natural discharge rate.
Installation of Rascal Pioneer battery:
The batteries are stored underneath your seat and can be accessed by removing the seat using the lever there. Once the seat is out of the way, just remove the cowling, and you will see two separate batteries. Please note that they are quite heavy, so if need be, seek advice from a professional.
Looking to upgrade to a higher ampere for additional range:
Although the batteries on offer here are what the manufacturer recommends, you can upgrade to the GEL versions. These will not only provide more miles per charge as they can discharge slightly more than regular AGM but also can take the abuse of discharging more, so they should last longer overall if treated correctly.
