Our SG1290FP LY-9-12 YD-9-12 battery replacement is both VRLA and AGM. As such, it requires no maintenance throughout its life apart from charging.
If it is being fitted into something with its own charging circuit, like a generator, then there would probably be enough energy in it to start the device and allow the equipment to charge the cells. But you should be charging fully when the battery arrives and before it is first used. Also, if it will not be used for an extended period, recharge every six weeks to keep the cells fresh.
It will probably take up to ten charges and be used in your equipment before the cells can accept a full capacity charge. This is quite normal and part of the conditioning process that all rechargeable batteries go through at the start of their life.
This SG1290FP LY-9-12 YD-9-12 battery replacement is constructed mainly from lead or Pb and, therefore, is very easy to recycle, so it should be directed to a recycling centre at the end of its productive lifespan.
