The Speedrite S1000 is a solar-powered fence energiser with a battery to help livestock maintain a boundary within larger farms. It is quoted as capable of powering up to 10km of perimeter fencing. While the solar panel helps keep the battery charged, it can only do so much; it will still need replacing eventually. You should make a point of periodically checking that it does not require replacement, as it works very hard and will not last forever.
If you will not be using the equipment for long periods, perhaps tucking it away, then fully charge the battery before putting it away; maybe remove it from the Speedrite S1000 and recharge it every six weeks to keep the cells in good order.
The Speedrite S1000 battery replacement needs no maintenance; it is a sealed AGM. Please read your manual thoroughly before making any changes.
