Your new batteries that we dispatch to you will be almost fully charged but the system will still need to complete a service charge after installing, it does mean of course that during this interim period the full runtime protection will not be available to you until its finished, you probably just want to install and go but its best to run the system without a load to so it can properly reset
Battery life expectancy is between two to five years in this UPS, this is not a set rule though and a lot will depend on how they are used, using the UPS system as part of the office furniture, putting boxes on it is not the best idea, it needs good ventilation, the batteries will in general use get very hot as they are working hard 24-hours a day, the more heat the shorter their life, try and keep the load below 40% if you can, while it may well be capable of more it will shorten the battery life
