The Vans Os Medical Excel Entice Universe is a class 3 mobility scooter. The Universe 4 is a four wheeled version of the older three wheeled Universe 3. Replacing the batteries should be done with care and with your manual at your side. To replace the batteries you first must remove the seat. The leaver to release the seat is located under the seat to the right. Firstly you must push the leaver forward and rotate the seat to the side. Secondly firmly grip the seat and pull upward, the seat should now pop off. Once you have exposed the battery, making sure no power is running through the machine, unplug and disconnect the wires. Simply replace the new batteries with your old ones, connect the wires to the new batteries, and fit the seat back to the scooter.
Your batteries should arrive almost fully charged but looking after the batteries is very important. Before your first use you should fully charge the batteries, overnight if you must. Putting the batteries on charge after every use is very good practice and will keep them at peak condition for the longest. If a period of eight weeks pass and the batteries haven't been used it is highly recommend that you fully charge them.
