The batteries will be delivered to you with a good charge within, but a responsible owner would recharge when they arrive and first use, it will take a number of uses before its able to accept a full capacity one though you probably will not even notice this in general use. The best way to look after them going forward is to recharge after every use, just until they are full then remove, further if not being used for long periods then do so every four weeks to keep the cells healthy for time to come.
