The batteries will be delivered with a very good charge in them, but even so you should still charge before using for the first time, this will not be necessary only if being fitted in something that is always connected to the mains like a UPS system which will do this job for you, while you only need to charge until it indicates that its ready, it probably will not take long and it is very important so not a step you should overlook, you might just want to use them, but that would be unwise, unless as stated above, missing out on charging them first could shorten overall life expectancy
It will probably not even be apparent to you at all but it will take a number charges, up to ten and associated use in your device before the battery is capable of receiving a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, after you have used your more portable equipment you should get a charge back into it as soon as you are able, do not leave it sitting around in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, do not try to fully discharge the batteries, it will not rejuvenate them, it will reduce the lifespan and cost you money in the long run, they may be protracted periods where the batteries are not being used, if this is the case ensure they are fully charged first, then top up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours
These 12-volt batteries are very resilient and can be mounted on the side without any issues so suitable for use in portable devices, deep cycle capable which of course is essential in electric powered devices, no leaking, which means they can be used indoors or medical environments, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe
