The batteries that we dispatch to you will be almost fully charged. Your UPS will complete a full charge, and this helps it reset to the new battery cell. There will be a short period when you won't have the full runtime protection your UPS can offer until it completes this operation. Please run the system without a load in the evening so it can reset to the new energy level.

You will find that some financial houses will change the batteries every year regardless. Still, you can expect a lifespan of 2-5 years; usage over time, however, will determine this. Good ventilation is always important, so they're often used as a bookshelf. Try to keep the constant load below 40%; while it may handle much more, it will shorten battery life, so it's a balancing act.

The preferred battery type is AGM (absorbed glass mat). They are also valve-regulated, which means they can be used in tower- or rack-mounted UPS systems without fear of leakage. They require no maintenance throughout their lifespan and are not hazardous, making them safe for use in busy data centres, medical backup, and, of course, the general home office.

These hot-swap-capable GXT2-48VBATT batteries are recyclable. Please dispose of them at a recycling centre when they have fulfilled their purpose.
