Installing the batteries is comparatively simple, refer to your manual for the procedure if you are not sure, they will come out to you almost fully charge but the system will still need to complete a service charge upon firing up, you should note that while this is going on you will not have the full runtime protection, while it's not always convenient it would be best to run without load to start so it can fully reset itself to the new battery energy level
In this UPS you could expect the batteries to last somewhere between two to five years, this is not a set rule though and a lot will depend on how they are used, the batteries will get hot in general use, the hotter they get the shorter the life so good ventilation is paramount, to get a long battery life you should try to keep the load below 40%, its capable much more but the pay off will be battery life
These batteries are absorbed glass mat, AGM and valve regulated sealed lead acid or VRLA for short, they require no maintenance and due to their chemistry can be mounted on the side in rack mounted or tower UPS systems without the fear of leakage, they are not-hazardous so can be used in data centres, hospitals and of course the home office.
