Installing the APC Back-UPS BK250, BK250I & BK2501 batteries is relatively simple; refer to your manual for the procedure if you are unsure. They will come out to you almost fully charged, but the system will still need to perform a service charge upon startup. During this interim period, please note that your system will not provide full runtime protection until it completes this task. We know it may not be convenient, as everything is completed in a rush, but if you can, it's best to run the system without any load to start.
You can expect an APC Back-UPS BK250, BK250I & BK2501 battery life of 2 to 5 years. The usage, however, will determine this. Good ventilation is always important. If it's in an office, do not use it as a bookshelf. Keep an eye on the load; do not connect too many devices. If you can keep it below 40%, it will last longer; if it's more than capable of going higher, it will be at the expense of battery life.
Ensure that you order the right battery by checking the code on your APC Back-UPS BK250, BK250I & BK2501 and comparing it to the information here; many are very similar, so it's easy to make a mistake.
