Always charge your new motorcycle battery when it arrives and before first use. After fitting, take it for a good run to get the energy back into the cells. All rechargeable batteries take several uses and recharges before they can take a full-capacity charge; sometimes this can be as many as ten. Still, it's the normal way to condition them for future use.

This battery requires no maintenance; it's sealed AGM, it does however need to be charged, if there are long periods when its not being used, perhaps the winter, our best advice would be to remove if from the bike and charge it every six weeks, we do not overly like the use of intelligent always connected chargers but that is better than leaving them abandoned all winter.
