You don't need to charge new batteries when they arrive or at first use, but you should recharge after starting the engine. Please take it for a good run. It will take several uses before it can receive a full-capacity charge; you probably will not even notice, though. If they are not being used, then you must also recharge every six weeks to keep the cells fresh and healthy for future use.
The battery is sealed; it needs no maintenance, except of course charging as mentioned above. No vent pipe or fluid is needed; it comes with terminals on each corner, so it can be fitted either way around, adding flexibility in placement. It will replace several batteries, including the following
