This includes uninterruptable power supply systems (UPS) such as the GXT4-5000RT230, 5000RT230E, GXT4-6000RT230 and 6000RT230E. In order for these systems to do their important job of protecting your data from electrical surges and power cuts, their batteries must be maintained and replaced when necessary.

Maintenance for UPS batteries
Upon dispatch, the batteries will be more or less fully charged but it is vital that after installation you let the UPS system charge and run without load to ensure the batteries are reset and comfortable in their new home. In a system like this, the battery life should be between two and five years, however conditions can considerably affect this. Make sure the area around the gadget is well ventilated and avoid using it as a table, as many people do, as this may cause the batteries to overheat and reduce their lifespan. If possible, you can also try to keep the load below 40%.
