The Leoch DJW12-2.2 & LP12-2.2 are small sealed lead-acid battery packs; our replacement is the same physical size. It is generally used in portable devices that require a rechargeable 12v power source.
This battery will be delivered with a reasonable charge. But it is always good practice to charge a rechargeable battery fully when it arrives and before first use. Although you probably will not even notice, it will take several charges and be used in the device before it can accept a full-capacity charge. This is quite normal and part of the conditioning process that all rechargeable batteries undergo at the start of their life.
If it is fitted in portable equipment, charge it after every use. It will do the cells no good, as it allows them to sit discharged longer than necessary. If you don't use it for long periods, recharge it every six weeks to maintain a healthy battery. Please charge only until charged, then remove. Overnight is okay, but not for days on end.
