The Kite is an exceptional power-chair produced by Invacare, ideal for indoor and outdoor activities. It combines driving convenience, performance and compactness all while being smooth and comfortable thanks to its unique dual swing technology which provides an unrivalled suspension system. One of the main selling points of the Kite is that it is modular and able to be customized to the owners’ individual needs. This includes being able to take two different size batteries of which we can supply both.
These replacement batteries are not spillable, sealed.
How to charge and maintain Invacare-Kite batteries?
Charging your batteries is very important as most of the damage occurs when they are allowed to run flat, so please charge upon delivery and before first use although this should not take long as all our batteries are dispatched with sufficient charge. If a period of six weeks will pass without use then charge them to slow down the natural discharge rate.
Installation of Invacare-Kite battery
Swapping over your old batteries for new ones is fairly simple and doesn’t require any special tools but if you are unsure please seek advice from a professional and they can install for you. However here are a few tips to help you if you need. Firstly, remove the rear cover at the bottom of the chair and disconnect the battery from the electronic module. Then remove the knurled head screws around the outside and you should be able to pull the cover off. Take the wires off the old batteries and swap over to the new ones making sure you put all the wires and screws back where you found them.
Upgrade to a higher ampere Invacare-Kite battery for additional range?
The standard batteries offered with the Invacare Kite is the GEL 60ah however at point of purchase you would have had the option to get both physically and ampere-wise larger batteries. Since the 73.6Ah GEL batteries are slightly taller then you may want to ensure you have enough room on your power-chair for installation.
