The NPC18-12 replacement battery is valve regulated and sealed, this deep cycle battery will not leak if mounted on its side and is not-hazardous, therefore it can be used in portable devices as well indoors. Indeed you may see it in portable devices like mobility scooters and golf cart trolleys as well as fixed applications like uninterruptible power supplies.

If you are using your new battery in a portable device then we would suggest your charge it fully before first use, also after each and every use as it will last much longer if you can keep as much charge in it as you can, that does not mean leaving on a charger though as this can do more harm that good, if you are not using for longer periods of time then a top up charge every eight weeks will keep the cells fresh.
