When you get the batteries from us, they will have a reasonably high charge, but you still need to charge them before first use. While you only need to charge until the charger indicates it is finished, it is imperative and not a step you should overlook. It will help set them up and possibly extend their overall life expectancy.
You may not notice it, but it will probably take a few charges and use in your equipment before you can receive a full-capacity charge in your batteries. This is quite a normal part of the conditioning process. When you have used your devices and then put the batteries back on charge, you do not want to allow them to sit in a partially discharged state. Going out of your way to fully discharge the batteries will reduce their life span, so do not do it. There may be many reasons for the equipment not to be used regularly. If there are protracted periods where this is the case, ensure the batteries are charged beforehand and then topped up every four weeks but do not leave them on a charger for more than twenty-four hours at a time.
