How to extend the life of your RBC152 batteries?
The batteries on offer here are non-hazardous, sealed lead acid, valve regulated absorbed glass mat which means they are leak proof and can be fitted on their side, making it ideal for installing into UPS systems. They are also maintenance free so once installed into the UPS you don’t have to touch them again however there are a few tips to ensure you get the maximum life out of them.
The UPS obviously has its own charging system which is a great start as the machine will do a much better job at charging than you can. You should run the system without load directly after installation as this will help them reset. Other tips on extending battery life are making sure the system has good ventilation and is clear of dust, stored in a climate controlled room and using less than 40% load where possible. Following these tips you should expect somewhere between two to five year life.
Recycling your RBC152 battery?
These batteries and the ones you are replacing are environmentally friendly and can be made into another useful product because they are mainly made from lead. To fulfil the natural green life of them please ensure they are sent to a recycling centre, contact your local council if you are unsure of your closest one.
