APC RBC142 Maintenance
The expected life span is of these types of batteries is 3-5 years, this coincides with what APC would say. The best conditions would be a dust-free climate-controlled room but obviously, not everyone has one, especially if you are using a small set of batteries like these. Instead, try to keep the vents clear, often dust will build up around them. Keep it clean regularly with a vacuum as all that dust will eventually coat the inside including the cooling fans restricting airflow which means it will be running hotter than it needs to, this will directly relate to a shorter working life so it makes sense to keep it clear. Another tip would be to try and use less than 40% load where possible and run without any load after installation.

These batteries are recyclable because the main content is lead or Pb, which is easily converted into another product. The systems they fit into typically have energy-saving features to help the environment as well. Once the time comes that these have fulfilled their purpose then please direct them to your local recycling center, which also goes for the batteries that you are replacing.
