It's a good idea to top up the electrolyte levels from time to time—particularly in heavy-use situations. These are not sealed units like AGM or GEL batteries, but they are renowned for reliability, simple recycling, and good runtime. You can, however, upgrade to the GEL in our easy upgrade section.
Proper maintenance will make a big difference. Charge after every use, no matter how short the run. If the vehicle is parked or will not be driven for a few weeks, just top up the charge every month to avoid deep self-discharge—one of the most common reasons for premature lead-acid battery failure.
