Powering the Nilfisk SW4000 is a 24V battery system, typically consisting of four 6V deep-cycle lead-acid batteries (though some variations may use a set of 12, 2v cells). These sealed lead-acid (SLA) or flooded lead-acid batteries are specifically designed for industrial floor cleaning equipment, providing long run times and reliable power for continuous operation. The deep-cycle design allows for repeated discharge and recharge cycles without significant performance loss, making them well-suited for heavy-duty cleaning tasks.
To extend battery life and maintain peak performance, always fully charge the batteries after each use using a compatible 24V industrial charger. Avoid discharging them below 20% capacity, as deep discharges can shorten lifespan.
If you are using the wet batteries, then follow the manufacturer’s advice on any extra steps you will need to take such as topping up with liquid. We can also offer the GEL upgrades which will eliminate this type of maintenance, these can be selected on the easy upgrade section.
