Here is a set of ten 12v sealed lead acid batteries for sale. They are the recommended valve-regulated lead acid type with absorbed glass mat which means they can be mounted on their side, perfect for use in rack mountable and tower systems without fear or spillage.

This unit will fit many UPS systems so that the procedure can be slightly different, but it's the same. The only tools you will likely require are a Phillips screwdriver, a flat screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Some may be hot-swapped capable. If so, you can do them one at a time without losing power. Suppose you do not save any programs and files, shut the computer systems and switch them off. Undo the battery cover and replace the batteries. In such an application, you should expect a life span of between three to five years. This depends on the excess load applied and sufficient ventilation in the communications room.

These and your old batteries are recyclable, so please ensure they are sent to a recycling centre for processing and not to a landfill. They have high lead content so they can be reused for something else. More information can be found on our recycle page.
