Charge your new cordless power tool battery when you receive it, it shouldn't take that long as it will come out almost fully charged. If you use your battery on a regular basis you will obtain the best from it, they like to be used and charged. If however you do not use it much then ensure it gets a top up charge every 6-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time.
