The batteries you receive from us will be almost fully charged, but you should still charge them before first use. However, if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains, like a monitor or maybe an alarm system, then you do not need to charge it first, as the system will do that for you. Your charger will indicate to you when it has completed a charge. It will probably not take very long. Depending on the charger, the light will generally change to show it's ready. You may want to fit them and use the equipment, but do not miss this first step if needed. It's worth waiting until the first charge has been completed, and it may well contribute over life.
You probably will not notice, but it will take up to ten charges and associated use in your device before the batteries can take a few capacity charge. This is normal. Allowing your new batteries to sit without charge is not a good idea if using them in a portable device. Once you have finished using it, please put it back on charge. Please do not attempt to discharge the batteries deliberately. It will not rejuvenate them; it will only harm them and reduce their life span. If, for any reason, you are not using them for long periods, then you should recharge every 4-6 weeks but do not leave them on the charger for more than twenty-four hours at a time.
