These little bright yellow batteries are very popular; they deliver a strong burst of energy to start your motorcycle and are well thought of by many. You may get away with it, but it is important to charge after starting, so it's a great excuse for a run. It will take a few uses before any battery can accept a full-capacity charge; this is a normal part of conditioning.

If you are not using your battery for extended periods, such as in winter, the best option is to remove it from the bike and recharge it every six weeks so it's fresh come spring. We don't prefer connect-and-forget chargers; they're not the ideal approach for us, but it's better than leaving it unused for four months and then expecting it to start working.
