Replacement APC Smart-UPS 1500 SU1500RMI2U UPS battery pack is for the 1500VA 2U 980-watt rack-mountable uninterruptible power supply.
The battery pack has four 12v valve-regulated batteries. Often called sealed lead acid batteries, they are leakproof and require no maintenance whatsoever. After fitting, you should allow a period for the batteries to be fully charged by the system.

Fitting the batteries in the slide-out tray is not a difficult job. The only tricky bit can be that sometimes the battery cells are held in with double-sided sticky tape, which can be a bit tougher than you would think. If it is, we suggest using a flat screwdriver to ease them out but do not use the tray as a fulcrum as it's not very strong—lever against one of the other batteries. Once you have released one from its sticky home, the others are much easier.
The expected life of the new batteries in the APC SU1500RMI2U is between three to five years, depending, on the use circumstances. The batteries are kept in tip-top condition by the APC UPS system via regulated and temperature-controlled charging cycles, but if the system is stating its time to change them, do not delay. The system will continue to charge your old batteries even though they cannot receive them properly, which can cause an element of overheating and gassing in cells that should have been changed.
This product is recyclable. Please ensure it is directed to a suitable recycle bank at the end of its useful life for recycling into another product that uses the valuable led content, maybe even another battery.
