This pack has sixteen batteries for this large 5U rack-mountable server. These fit into the pair of module cartridges contained within. They are fully hot-swapped capable should your system allow it.
These valve-regulated lead acid batteries, VRLA and AGM, will not leak. They are not hazardous and safe in data centres that often house these larger UPS systems. The cells can be mounted on their side with no adverse effect.
We think if you use this UPS system, you will use software like PowerChute to reset it after fitting new batteries. If you are not, then it will help to manually reset by removing the load and charging the batteries in the system for twenty-four hours before reapplying the load.
The batteries themselves are mainly constructed from lead or Pb. When they have reached the end of their useful life, please ensure that they are sent to a recycling centre so that this valuable reusable resource will make its way back into the system to be used for another product.
