The Pride Celebrity and the Celebrity X comes in three and four wheel version, it is quoted as a 6 mph luxury mobility scooter and it very popular, the three wheel version has as you expect a tighter turning circle that than its 4 wheeled brother and for the same reason is slightly lighter but much everything else is the same specifications and they are many options available from new including larger batteries, this offer is the standard fit 12-volt U1 batteries. There is a optional extra at point of purchase to have the bigger ones, these are a slightly different physical size as well, if you are not aware which ones you had from new then the best advise would be to measure the batteries you have in there and compare with the sizes we have listed below, if indeed they are different then you will have the 40Ah pack from them, the link to this will be at the bottom of the page.
You are no doubt aware that your batteries are on the out, you have a battery condition monitor on your tiller and when they get very low you may have had to reset the main circuit breaker, so now its time to buy new batteries.
Fitting your new batteries is quite a easy job, after you have unpacked your parcels from us you will see you have two batteries, on your scooter you need to remove the seat and the rear shroud cover, you will then be able to see the old batteries that require changing, they is a tie down strap that stretches all the way across, undo this strap, you then have two battery harness straps, one for each battery, you pull these straight up and you can release the batteries so they can be swapped over for the new ones, like we said its very easy, the only fly in the ointment is the batteries are heavy, as long as you are prepared for that its plain sailing.
Battery care is important, you do not have to know much or do much just be aware they are a few rules to abide by, you will find you will not get a full charge first time around, it will probably take four or five charges before the battery is fully conditioned, this is normal.
This type of battery can be deep cycled and that is why its used, but to keep it as long as possible then know that it is capable of taking many thousands of charges if it is only discharged by a small amount, the more you discharge it the less number of charges it will be able to accept in its life time, to put this in layman's terms, charge it after every use, do not run it down a lot before charging it, a lot of people think you should do this, but that is not correct with this type of battery and will only shorten its overall life, costing you more money in the long run. Also if not using for long periods charge every six weeks so the cells are not starved of energy which will also shorten its life.
