When you receive your Amstron AP-1229 order from us the batteries will be almost fully charged but even so you should still complete a charge before first use, the only time you do not need to do this is if it's going into something with its own always connected power supply, for example a home or commercial alarm system, as this will do the job of charging for you, just charge them until your charger LED lights indicate that they are ready, it will probably not take very long, you may well be impatient and use without charging but it's worth waiting until its fully charged and will help extend overall life expectancy.
You probably will not notice but it will take up to ten charges and associated use in your device before the Amstron AP-1229 batteries are capable of taking a full capacity charge, this is normal, if being used in a portable device then ensure that after every use that you put the batteries back on charge, letting them sit in a partially discharged state is not wise, we have heard of people trying to extend battery life by running them down. Fully discharging your new batteries will reduce their overall lifespan, and they will need to be replaced sooner; this will cost you money in the long run. They may be protracted periods where the batteries are not being used. If this is the case, ensure they are fully charged first, then top up every four weeks, but do not leave them on a charger for more than 24 hours.
These 12V Amstron AP-1229 batteries are valve-regulated and AGM (absorbed glass mat). They do not require any liquid, as the acid is held within the glass mat, which means they will not spill and are not hazardous, so safe for use around the home and/or portable equipment.
