Sunrise Medical Sterling S700 replacement battery mobility scooter.
Replacement battery pack for Sterling S700 by Sunrise Medical, rechargeable 12v high-quality pair of AGM batteries for mobility scooter.
Sunrise Medical is a leading manufacturer of mobility scooters and is very popular in the mobility world. In the range, the Sterling-S700 is the leader of the pack, being the largest available, and with that comes the large AGM 75Ah batteries for extended range. It is the perfect outdoor companion that can tackle more significant gradients and higher kerbs with its larger pneumatic tyres. It also comes as standard with advanced four-wheel suspension, a luxurious adjustable swivel captain’s seat, powerful energy-efficient LED lights and an ergonomically adjustable tiller to make the whole scooter safe and easy to use. The batteries on offer here have a high lead content, which means they are recyclable, and since they are AGM, they are non-hazardous, cannot spill and safe to be mounted on their side.
These replacement batteries are suitable for the following products.
Are you looking to upgrade to a higher ampere for an additional range?
The batteries on offer here are the standard 75ah AGM batteries that are suitable for this scooter and many others. However, we are able to offer the 79Ah AGM for increased range and the 73.6 GEL, both from a leading manufacturer. The physical sizes of these are slightly different, so if you would like to upgrade, we suggest you double-check the sizes and that they will fit. Links for these batteries can be found on the alternatives tab.
How do you charge and maintain Sterling S700 batteries?
Battery charging has many myths surrounding it, depending on who you ask. You will get told a different thing; however, if you follow a few simple rules, you should be able to keep them in good condition. Firstly, although our batteries are stored in more or less a fully charged state you should charge until complete before first use, this may only take minutes. More importantly, never leave the battery in a discharged state. Charge as soon as possible after every use until complete, and never allow the battery to drain completely. Although wheelchairs are many users' lifeline to the outside world, they may be put in storage or not used for a while. If this is the case, charge your batteries every 4/5 weeks to slow down the natural discharge rate of all rechargeable batteries.
Installation:
Installation of these batteries is not complicated; however, they are very heavy with all the lead content. You should seek advice from a professional if need be, but they can be accessed by removing the seat and then removing the battery cover by unscrewing the three-hand wheels. Once inside, you will see the two separate batteries that connect to the scooter.
