The Hyundai HY2800SEi is a popular compact petrol driven generator that also has an inverter capability and electric start. It has two plug sockets, a USB connection and plenty of other features that a portable generator should have. Often used in remote places to power off grid or as a necessary tool for people in the industrial trade. The battery is a valve-regulated, sealed lead and high performance that requires no maintenance (except to be charged when not in use) and will not spill, making it safe to be installed in any orientation expect upside down and non-hazardous.

This battery now comes with a pair of 6.35mm F2/T2 connectors. This is due to the device having ring connections in some installations. The original battery with these is just no longer available, but converting to spade connections gets around this without much difficulty. Simply remove the ring and crimp the supplied connections in its place.

Maintenance tips
Because these are frequently used by leisure users or for particular jobs that dont come up often, it is possible that the battery will not be maintained during the winter months and will slowly discharge. This is not healthy for the battery and if left for too long will eventually render the battery useless. We would recommend that during long periods when it is not being used, you ensure the battery is charged every six weeks so that everything works properly for your next use.

Environmentally Friendly
Because these batteries are largely made of lead or Pb, it is important that once you are finished with them, they are directed to a spot where they can be recycled and turned into something beneficial again, rather than ending up in a landfill and harming the environment. This also applies to your old batteries, and if you are unsure where to dispose of them, please contact your local council, who will be glad to advise you.

Connector Update - we are now supplying the battery with two short bespoke cables, terminated with a spade connection at one end. plus at the other a ring, plus a nut and bolt so it can connect to the existing loop on your generator. Plus two lengths of shrink tube to cover the join. The nut and bolt are 8mm spanner, the shrink tube is activated by heat, a heat gun, hot hairdryer, soldering iron even a lighter with set it so every one will have one of these in the home.
