Take care of your new Rascal-Rio batteries
These batteries are technically classed as maintenance-free as they are AGM but that does not mean you can neglect to charge. There are many different myths regarding the best way to charge and you will probably get different answers depending on who you ask. Follow these tips and you should be good. Upon delivery and before first use, charge until full, this could take 5-minutes or it could take 5-hours, all depending on your charger. Secondly, never leave the battery in a discharged state, after every use you must charge until full as soon as possible. Lastly, if not going to be used for long periods then charge before putting away and top up charge every four or five weeks. Please note that since our batteries are brand new, it may take up to ten cycles for it to be able to do its full distance, this is completely normal.
Installation Rascal-Rio batteries
The Rascal-Rio has a fairly unique design but the batteries are fairly simple to get to and change. As this chair is a transportable powerchair that can be broken down into different sections, this is how you begin accessing the batteries. Once it is in different parts, take a look at the bottom sections, you will notice that you can open one up, and inside will be two separate batteries. Each battery has two terminals so in total that’s four wires and two batteries. You just need to replace the old batteries with the new ones. If you are unsure then we suggest taking a picture of the current setup so you have something to refer back to during installation and please take care. If still in doubt, please seek advice from a professional.
