Make sure you fully charge your new compatible Amigo Value Shopper & XL batteries when they arrive. On first use, they will come out almost fully charged, so it will not take long, but the key is always to have them charged. Get into the habit of charging them as soon as you have finished using them. Even if that is a few times a day, they are capable of many charges, but only if the energy level in them is high, so just replace it as often as you can. When the energy has depleted, the cells start to degrade; if you never use the last 60% of charge, they will last considerably longer.
If, for whatever reason, the Amigo Value Shopper & XL batteries are not being used, then a recharge every four weeks will be required to keep them in good health, but that does not mean leaving them on a charger for weeks on end unless it's a very good one, and that is doubtful unless you have spent more on it than the scooter itself.
There are two batteries in this set; they are rechargeable, sealed lead, VRLA AGM. They will not spill and are not hazardous
