When you receive your order from us you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged, but it is important to fully charge them before first use, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, you may well just want to fit them and use the equipment, but do not miss this first step, it's worth waiting until the first charge has completed and it might contribute to over life span
it may well take a number of full charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, each time you have used your electric vehicle then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can, do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary, you should never deliberately go out of your way to try fully discharge the batteries, this will only reduce its life span and cost you money in the long run, there may be many reasons for the equipment not be used on a regular basis, if there are protracted periods where this is the case then ensure the batteries are charged before hand and then topped up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These 12-volt batteries are AGM ( absorbed glass mat ) and VRLA ( valve regulated lead acid ) they are deep cycle and not-hazardous so suitable for use indoors or in electric vehicles, they will not leak all features that make them useful for use in this kind of application, they of course do not require any maintenance
We offer the information on this page purely as a guide only, if you carefully check the code on your mobility equipment then you should be OK, many are very similar so it's worth being vigilant, if in doubt look at your old batteries, take note of the dimensions and anything written on the side of them, we have included the dimensions of these batteries so you can double check, the batteries are recyclable, the main content is lead which is easily transformed, more information about recycling can be found on our recycling page, link to which is at the foot of this page
