When you receive your order from us you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged, but it is important to fully charge them before first use, there should be no need for many hours, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, do not just install and go without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing
it may well take a number of full charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, once you have used your equipment put the batteries back on charge, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, never go out of your way to deliberately discharge, this will only reduce overall life span, if for any unforeseen reason they is an extended period where you are not using the batteries make sure they are fully charged first, then recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These 12-volt batteries are AGM ( absorbed glass mat ) and VRLA ( valve regulated lead acid ) they are deep cycle and not-hazardous so suitable for use indoors or in electric vehicles, they will not leak all features that make them useful for use in this kind of application, they of course do not require any maintenance
