The batteries will be delivered with a good charge in them, but you still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, you might just want to fit them and use, but that would be unwise, missing out on charging them first could shorten overall life expectancy
