This offer is for a pair of 12v 18ah batteries to replace the Pride BATIQ1000 model, often seen in mobility scooters and batteries. They are a direct replacement in size and capacity and are easy to fit yourself. We are selling these as a pair because that's what will be in your device, and changing one would not be wise. But if you only want to buy a single from us, you can.
This type of battery is sealed and will not spill. They are AGM and VRLA, suitable for use in portable devices such as mobility, where they might go into the back of a car to be transported.
The chances are if you know the code of your battery and it led you here, you can already see how easy it will be to swap them out.
Are you maintaining your BATIQ1000 battery?
The critical thing you need to remember is to keep it charged. Charge when your order arrives and first use. This will not take long as it will come out to you with a good capacity. Charge them after every use, just until complete, then remove them. We do not recommend leaving them on the charger any longer than to obtain a total capacity. Overnight is okay, but not for weeks at a time. If they are not being used, a top-up recharge should be applied every four to six weeks.
Do not deliberatly run them down to zero. This will not reset them. It will only shorten their expected life of them.
Once these batteries have come to the end of their life, please recycle them. There are plenty of recycling centres that will be glad of them. They are mainly made of lead which means they can be made into a different product.
Can I upgrade the BATIQ1000 battery?
Yes, we do a 22ah battery that will offer more miles per charge and can be used to replace the 18ah directly. This will offer over 22% more miles than the previous. They are the same physical size, bolt-down terminals, but that means turning connections through 90 degrees. Never known as a mobility device, they are not suitable as a replement for the BATIQ1000.
