When you receive your order from us you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged, but it is important to fully charge them before first use. The LED lights will indicate whether it is still charging or not, you only need to charge them until they are ready. Do not be impatient, wait until this first charge has completed before thinking about using the equipment, it will contribute to overall battery life.
Most users will not even notice but it will take a number of charges and associated use in your equipment before they are capable of accepting a full capacity charge, this is quite normal and part of the conditioning process. Each time you use your electric vehicle then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can. Do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary. Never try to discharge the batteries all the way down, this will only reduce the life span and cost you money in the long run. It is important to keep a charge in the batteries for long life. If there is any period of time where they are not being used then charge before hand and top this up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours.
The battery type is AGM which is short for absorbed glass mat construction, they are also valve regulated, they means they can be used electric vehicles around the home or on the road without the fear of any leakage. With deep cycle properties that this type of installation would require, they will require no maintenance throughout their entire life span and are not-hazardous so safe for travelling including by air but you should check with your airline at point of booking your ticket.
You should confirm the code on your mobility equipment carefully, there are many that are very similar so you order the right battery set. If in doubt look at your old batteries, check the dimensions and take note of anything written on the side of them. We have also included the physical dimensions of the battery to make certain.
As the batteries are made of lead they are recyclable and environmentally friendly, more information about recycling can be found on a link at the foot of this page.
