There are two batteries in this set.
As a standard fit, these powerchairs come with U1-sized batteries, which is what this offer is for. We can also supply larger capacity 38ah and even Lithium, both same physical size and use your existing charger set up; the links to both these options will be further down the page in the alternatives.
When you receive your order from us, your new batteries will be almost fully charged, but you will still need to complete the charge before first use. Your charger will indicate when it has completed a charge; the light will generally change to show this. Make sure you do not miss the initial charge. Doing so may reduce overall life expectancy.
Most users will not notice, but it will take several charges and associated use in your equipment before they can accept a full capacity charge. This is quite normal and part of the conditioning process. Once you have used your equipment, put the batteries back on demand, and do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than necessary. Never try to discharge the batteries; with this type of technology, it will only mean a shorter life. There may be protracted periods where the batteries are not being used; if this is the case, ensure they are fully charged first, then top up every four-weeks. but do not leave them on a charger for more than eight-hours.
These 12v batteries are valve regulated, and AGM or absorbed glass mat, no need for any liquid as the acid is held within the glass mat. This means they will not spill and are not hazardous, so safe for use around the home and travelling, even aeroplanes, but you should confirm this with your airline at the point of booking your flight; they are deep cycle which would be required in this sort of application.
