When your order is delivered to you your new batteries will be almost fully charged, but regardless of this you should still complete a charge them before first use, if the battery is being fitted in something like an UPS system then you can miss this step as the on board circuit will do a better job of charging it than you, the charge time will depend on your charger, just leave it on until it indicates its finished, this first step is important so do not ignore it, unless as otherwise stated above, not charging first can reduce overall lifespan
