This battery size is used in lots of unrelated applications, they are very popular in rack mounted uninterruptible power supplies or UPS systems, we have also seen them in electric powered assisted bicycles, ride on scooters and many other devices.
If you are using in something like an alarm system or UPS with its own built in charging system then follow the equipments manufacturers recommendations for installing new batteries. this is often just a period of time and reset to the new battery. If you are putting them in a portable device of some sort that relies on your interaction to charge then we would suggest you charge before first use. charge after every use and if not being used for longer periods then a top up charge every 8-weeks will help to arrest the natural self discharge that will occur.
