The Rascal Veo Sport is a lightweight mobility scooter with a respectable Twenty-stone weight capacity. It can come with two battery options from new: the standard 14 Ah and 22Ah. We can offer both. If you do not know which battery pack you have, a handy tip is to measure the box's height. There are two batteries, and they sit on either side of the handle; the lighter 14Ah box will be less than 5 inches high, and the longer-running 22Ah will be over 6 inches high. This offer is for 14Ah; if you require 22Ah, select the easy upgrade option above.
Changing the batteries is easy; turn the battery box over (on a soft cloth or carpet, so you do not scratch the casing) and undo the screws from underneath, roll it back and remove the lid, and you will see the batteries; there are only two cables on each, so change one at a time, and you will not make a mistake.
While you could buy a new box, it is typically advertised at about five times the price of new batteries alone, and you still need to purchase batteries. They are made for the batteries to be changed, and it’s a straightforward procedure.
The Rascal Veo Sport with 22Ah batteries has a maximum range of 13.5 miles and can be easily broken down for transport in a vehicle, with the heaviest part weighing just over 17 kilos.
Looking after your new batteries is easy, but the key to a long life is to charge them when they arrive and use them again after every single use. If not used every four weeks, do not leave them on the charger longer than required to get a full charge; it will take up to ten charges from new before they reach full capacity. It’s always better to maintain at least 80% charge. That way, the occasional drop below this will not make a difference; if you discharge it regularly below 50%, you will shorten its lifespan.
