The A-Bec Suntech Regent 4 batteries before first use. You do not need to leave them on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished. Missing the opportunity to charge them first could shorten overall life expectancy.
It's not always apparent but it will take up to ten charges combined with use in your A-Bec Suntech Regent 4 before a full capacity charge can be achieved, this is the normal part of conditioning, make sure that you charge your new batteries after every use, they are capable of many charges but this will reduce if you let run them down in-between, going out of your way to discharge the batteries fully. Still, this will reduce their lifespan, so please don't do it. If there are extended periods when you are not using the batteries, you should remember to recharge them every four weeks and not put them away discharged, even partially. Do not leave them on the charger for more than 24 hours at a time.
These 12v batteries are very resilient and can be mounted on the side without any issues so suitable for use in the A-Bec Suntech Regent 4, deep cycle capable which of course is essential in electric powered devices, no leaking, which means they can be used indoors at well as the road or pavement, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe for airlines but you should check with them when you book your flight.
