When your order is delivered to you the batteries will be almost fully charged, but you still need to complete a full charge them before first use, there should be no need for many hours, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, do not just install and go without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing
it may well take a number of full charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, as soon as you after each use put them back on charge, do not allow them to sit in a discharged state, never try to discharge the batteries all the way down, this will only reduce the life span and cost you money in the long run, if there are extended periods where you are not using the batteries you should remember to recharge every four weeks and do not put them away discharged, even partially, do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
