- Invacare Scorpius A battery
This pair of batteries is for the sealed lead version of the case; this scooter is sometimes supplied with a lithium case, which these batteries will not fit. Usually there would be a sticker on the outside confirming this, so please check before ordering these batteries.
For people with little storage space or those who enjoy travelling, the Scorpius-A is the perfect mobility scooter. This folding scooter is designed for travel ease and can be highly beneficial due to its ability to fold down in less than eight seconds to a compact size, all just at the push of a button! Due to its compact size when folded, the scooter can effortlessly be stored in small spaces when travelling and very easily be lifted due to its light weight. Of all folding scooters, the Scorpius-A offers one of the smoothest and most stable rides. A higher level of comfort is provided by the flip-up armrests, height-adjustable tiller, and puncture-resistant tyres.
The lightweight, high-performance battery pack can go up to nine miles on a single charge, making it perfect for everyday use. If you plan to take your scooter abroad, the battery is airline compliant, lightweight, and simple to remove if necessary.
Charging and Maintenance of your battery:
Batteries that are fully charged offer dependable performance and longer battery life. When possible, keep your scooter's batteries fully charged. Avoid extremely hot or cold temperatures with your scooter and batteries. Batteries that undergo repeated deep discharge, infrequent charging, storage in extremely cold or hot conditions, or storage without a full charge may sustain permanent damage that reduces performance and shortens service life.
Before operating the scooter for the first time, the batteries must be charged, and they must be recharged after each use. Our batteries come almost fully charged, so this stage shouldn’t take too long. The battery life will be shortened by excessive or brief charging, therefore it is important to charge the batteries after each journey in a temperature range of 0 to 40 Celsius. Temperatures outside of this range may make the charger and battery less effective. The batteries need to be recharged at least every three months when storing your scooter for an extended period of time, and for the longest life, your batteries should be recharged on a regular basis before they drain to 20%.
For more information on charging, please visit the ‘downloads’ tab for the manual to the Invacare Scorpius-A scooter.
Recycling:
Did you know that you can recycle your old batteries? Just simply visit your local recycling centres and dispose of them there. This can help the depleted batteries to be turned into something new, perhaps even another battery!
