The Jazzy powerchairs by Pride Mobility have a huge and versatile range suited for many different users needs. This page is for the sport range and what makes them different from the others is the multiple features that they posses including in line, front wheel technology, easy to use controller, comfortable high back seat with headrest and Jazzy armour to protect from daily wear and tear. The standard fit batteries are 2x 12-volt 35 ampere, which is what is on offer here. Installation of your new batteries is very simple, especially with the Jazzy Sport thanks to its easy access battery box compartment. The first thing you should do when attempting to install your batteries is too make sure that no power is running through the powerchair. Secondly, underneath the seat at the rear you will have to take out the battery box, possibly with some screws or similar. Open this up and you will see two separate batteries, (it is a good idea at this point to take a picture so you can refer back to it once the new batteries are in) unplug these batteries and carefully slide them out. Lastly slide your new batteries into place, plug all the wires back in, screw the screws back into place and put the battery box back into your powerchair. Your batteries are now installed and ready to go!
Your batteries will arrive almost fully charged but ideally you should charge them fully before first use, overnight is fine. To keep the batteries in peak condition you should charge them after every use but for no longer than 24-hours as this can damage the battery. A battery information sheet will arrive with the battery (also on our website so you can read before), it is important to read this and take good care of your battery. As mentioned above we stock an upgraded version of this battery, this has 38 amps opposed to the standard 35 amps. What this means is that you will get more miles per charge but more importantly more residual charge left and the end of a drive which will greatly increase the life of your battery.
