These sealed lead acid batteries require no maintenance, they are sealed and can be mounted on their side without fear of spillage, the technology is valve regulated lead acid or VRLA and AGM or absorbed glass mat
The best way to keep this kind of battery is to keep it charged, they are capable of many thousands of charges but only if it is discharged a small amount, in a ideal world it would be best never to run them down past 50%, so charge after every use and know that if you run them down further than this on a regular basis you are shortening the expected life of the battery
